Arvind Kejriwal Urges Yogi Adityanath to Guide Amit Shah on Delhi’s Law and Order

A Political Exchange: Arvind Kejriwal Suggests Yogi Adityanath Guide Amit Shah on Delhi’s Law and Order

In a sharp political exchange, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal responded to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s criticism regarding the state of law and order in Delhi. Kejriwal redirected the issue towards Union Home Minister Amit Shah, suggesting that Adityanath should guide him in resolving the challenges faced by the national capital.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader acknowledged the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi but pointed out that the responsibility lies directly under the Union Home Minister. “I agree with Yogi ji that Delhi’s law and order is in shambles. The responsibility for maintaining law and order in Delhi lies with the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah. I request Yogi ji to sit with him and guide him on how to fix this situation,” Kejriwal said.

Expanding on his remarks, Kejriwal accused Amit Shah of prioritizing political maneuvers over public safety. According to the Delhi Chief Minister, Shah’s focus has been on destabilizing state governments rather than addressing the escalating crime rates in the capital. “Amit Shah is busy breaking up political parties and buying MLAs. Yogi ji should sit with him and instead teach how to improve the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi,” Kejriwal added.

Adityanath had earlier launched a strong critique of the AAP government during a rally in Delhi’s Kirari area ahead of the February 5 Assembly polls. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister accused the AAP administration of neglecting development in Delhi while allegedly facilitating the settlement of illegal migrants, including Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, particularly in areas like Okhla. He alleged that this negligence had severely impacted the region’s industrial and urban progress.

Speaking at the rally, Adityanath said, “Delhi’s Okhla industrial area is in shambles due to a lack of facilities. While AAP hindered industrial growth, it facilitated the settlement of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators. In contrast, Uttar Pradesh’s New Okhla region is a prime example of development.” He further elaborated that his government had acted decisively to reclaim state-owned land from alleged encroachers in Jamia Nagar and nearby areas, even resorting to sending bulldozers to evict them and secure the land.

Adityanath also targeted Kejriwal on an environmental note, daring him and his ministers to take a dip in the Yamuna river in Delhi, drawing a sharp contrast with his recent ceremonial dip in the Sangam during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. “Yesterday, I along with all my ministers took a holy dip at the Sangam in Prayagraj where Maha Kumbh is on. I want to ask Kejriwal whether he can bathe in the Yamuna in Delhi along with his ministers. He should answer if he has any moral courage,” Adityanath challenged.

The exchange has intensified the political atmosphere as both leaders gear up for the upcoming elections, with accusations flying and the central themes of development, governance, and law enforcement taking center stage. Kejriwal’s response and his call for action towards Amit Shah underline a growing attempt to shift accountability back to the center.
