The pandemic is adversely affecting our country. India is witnessing over 2 lakh cases every day. The hike in Corona positive cases has forced many states to impose strict Covid control rules in order to tackle the situation. At this point of time safety and well-being of the students and teachers is the utmost priority when it comes to education. Hence, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had to take a major decision of cancellation and postponement of Class 10th and Class 12th examinations. The announcement of the following was made on 14th April 2021.
The board had mentioned in its circular that Class 12th examination dates will be notified later when the situation comes under control. But, Class 10th students shall be promoted based on an objective criterion which would be set by CBSE Board. In case of student’s result dissatisfaction, they will be given a chance to appear in the exam when the conditions are favourable.
But even after the official announcement by CBSE Board there is a confusion about objective criterion in students mind. According to the reports, the board has begun its preparation for Class 10th results by sending a format to all CBSE schools.
The board has collected the details of projects students have worked on in the academic year so as to evaluate results based on the project work. CISCE schools are inquiring if the students want to take up the board examination or not, and already schools have received the instructions for the same.
As per the sources, the information collected has been sought on 15 points according to the format issued by the board to all the schools. Student’s particulars have been considered for this and the schools have been assigned with responsibility to provide student’s complete details to CBSE. Performance in school test and term examinations has also been included in the information collected.
