CBSE and CISCE Class 12th results evaluation criteria update.

Recently, On June 1st  Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) had cancelled Class 12th board examination due to the deadly pandemic. The decision was taken after  the meeting held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Later on June 4th a panel of 13 members was set up to decide the evaluation criteria for Class 12th and they were given 10days of time to submit the reports. But they have crossed the deadline.  The panelists are trying to figure out fair and objective criteria. According to the sources, after the discussion held to decide the criteria it was mentioned that the panel will submit the final recommendations as soon as possible.

Now as per the reports the panel might finalize the recommendations by today and submit it to the supreme court on June 17th. On receiving approval from the Supreme Court the result date for CBSE Class 12th shall be announced. As of now the results are expected to be revealed by July 15th. However several state boards may also follow the similar evaluation criteria.

During the discussion recommendations to include Class 10 and Class 11 performance was presented and consideration of student performance throughout the academic year was also suggested. Most experts were in favor of considering Class 10th marks as a standardization parameter while many had an objection with the idea of taking Class 11th marks into account.

So CBSE Class 12th results are likely to be assessed based on students’ performance in 12th pre-board exam and their Class 10th & Class 11th final exam. This depicts the holistic approach. According to a recent panel discussion there are chances that 12th pre boards could have 40% weightage in the final assessment while Class 10th and 11th marks are expected to have 30% weightage. But the final announcement is yet to be made.

Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) shall use Class 11th and Class 12th internal marks for assessment and the final result is expected to be announced by July 20th
