After the furious electoral contest between the political parties, the counting of votes for 224 seats in the Karnataka Assembly had been held today.
As per the updates, Congress is all set to bounce back to power in Karnataka and the party is leading with 136 seats, while the BJP is experiencing a huge decline with only 65 seats as the lead. JD(S) which was led by Deve Gowda is ahead on 19 seats, the number of seats declining when compared to the previous elections.
The scenario is almost similar to the atmosphere that was experienced during Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka.
The results are critical for both ruling and the opposition along with the regional party JD(S). For Bharatiya Janata Party, majority seats in the Karnataka state were meant to support its dominance all over the country and also to maintain its existence in south India, where they are trying to extend their footprint strongly.
The Congress party, on the other hand, looks forward to a comeback, which in turn will influence the ultimate battle in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
The JD(S) is struggling to maintain its connection in Karnataka state, because most of its support base has joined both Congress and BJP.
On their victory Congress president M Kharge mentioned ” BJP Mukt South India”. Now a question arises if Karnataka election results are a sign of victory for the opposition in the 2024 Lok Sabha election?
There are different leaders from various states in opposition such as Nitish kumar in Bihar, Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh, Mamta Banarjee in West Bengal , Arvind kejriwal in Delhi, K Chandrashekar Rao in Telangana, Uddhav Thackeray & Sharad Pawar. We never know how their roles will impact the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Their unity might be a big game changer.
