Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale questioned the timing of the celebration and wondered why it couldn’t have been postponed for a day out of respect for the fallen security personnel.

She pointed out the sharp contrast with the Pulwama attack, where the BJP claimed they were unaware until later, in contrast to the current situation where they were fully aware from the morning.
Shiv Sena’s Priyanka Chaturvedi echoed the call for sensitivity, expressing disappointment that the celebration couldn’t have been postponed, especially on a day when security forces had fought valiantly in Kashmir. Manoj Jha, a leader from the RJD, joined the chorus of criticism, noting the stark contrast between the sacrifices made by the soldiers and the jubilation at the BJP office. He highlighted the nation’s collective observation of both these contrasting visuals, recalling the BJP’s earlier claim of delayed knowledge during the Pulwama attack and the stark contrast with their awareness this time.
