“Kejriwal’s Challenge to PM: Will He Step Down If CBI Clears Residence Renovation?”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has issued a bold challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He wants the Prime Minister to step down from his position if the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) doesn’t uncover any wrongdoing in the ongoing investigation regarding the renovation of Kejriwal’s new official home. This challenge follows a recent CBI inquiry into this matter.

The whole situation started when the Union Home Ministry ordered the CBI to look into claims made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). They alleged that the Delhi government spent an enormous ₹45 crore to renovate Kejriwal’s official residence during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. The CBI has now started a preliminary inquiry to find out if any significant violations occurred.

Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which he leads, believes that the BJP is using government agencies to target him. They are confident that the investigation will not reveal any wrongdoing. The AAP said that “the support of 2 crore people of Delhi is with Arvind Kejriwal,” and they are convinced that the investigation will not result in any negative findings.

Kejriwal, who is known for being outspoken, asked whether PM Modi would resign if the CBI investigation turns up nothing. He pointed out that in the past, numerous inquiries have been conducted on various issues involving him, such as liquor policies, education, and transportation. However, nothing substantial has been found so far. He welcomes this new inquiry, believing it will also end without finding any wrongdoing.

This situation highlights the ongoing political rivalry between the AAP and the BJP in the nation’s capital. As the CBI continues to investigate the renovation allegations, the political tension is expected to rise. The country will closely follow the investigation to see if any solid evidence emerges or if it merely adds another chapter to the long-standing political competition between Kejriwal and Modi.
