Acid Attack on young girl Shakes Maharajganj. CM Yogi claims Uttar Pradesh is free from crime.

Uttar Pradesh-Maharajganj– A young woman in the Bhitauli Thana region of Maharajganj district fell victim to a horrific acid attack as she returned home after caring for her ailing mother. The 25-year-old, who was just 10 days away from her scheduled wedding, endured a life-altering ordeal when an unidentified assailant on a scooter threw acid on her face, leaving her in critical condition.

The victim, who had accompanied her mother for medical treatment, was targeted on her way back home by the assailant, donned in a black-colored scooter and masked to conceal their identity. Following the attack, the assailant quickly fled the scene, leaving the victim in distress.

The family rushed the young woman to a nearby hospital, where her deteriorating condition prompted doctors to refer her to B.R.D. Medical College in Gorakhpur. The severity of the acid attack resulted in severe burns on her face and body, causing immense distress for both the victim and her family.

Adding to the tragedy, the incident occurred just 10 days before the victim’s planned wedding. The once joyous and actively preparing family is now grappling with shock and despair following this brutal attack. Dr. Kaustubh, a local physician, revealed that the young woman, a resident of Dhaurali village, was returning from the market with her mother when the assailant struck.

In a swift response to the incident, law enforcement authorities from both Sadar and Bhitauli police stations collected forensic samples from the crime scene. They initiated a thorough investigation, utilizing electronic evidence in their pursuit of justice to track down the assailant responsible for this heinous act.

The acid attack has not only left the victim physically scarred but has also cast a dark shadow over the impending wedding festivities. The community is now anxiously awaiting updates on the police investigation, hoping for the swift apprehension of the assailant. As the victim continues her medical treatment, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to address and prevent such atrocities in society.

However, this incident is not an isolated occurrence in Uttar Pradesh. According to NCRB data, Uttar Pradesh ranks first in various crimes, including murder, rape, kidnapping, dacoity, robbery, burglary, theft, riots, cheating, and cybercrime. Despite Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s claims of Uttar Pradesh being crime-free, the reality paints a different picture, with individuals being killed, looted, raped, or falling victim to cybercrime every single day. The need for comprehensive measures to address the root causes of such crimes is more apparent than ever.
