US Elections 2024: Barack Obama Endorses Kamala Harris for President, Revamps 2008 Campaign Strategies

At the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama delivered powerful speeches to rally support for Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign.

Barack Obama, warmly welcomed by the crowd, began his speech with, “Chicago, it’s good to be home,” receiving enthusiastic applause. He quickly rekindled the spirit of his 2008 campaign, declaring, “I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling fired up and ready to go!”

Reflecting on his presidency, Obama recalled his decision to choose Joe Biden as his vice president, calling it his best decision. He shared, “Other than some common Irish blood, we come from different worlds, but we became brothers.”

Obama praised Biden for his empathy and integrity, highlighting these traits as essential for leadership. He stated, “I admired Joe’s empathy and decency. His belief that everyone in this country deserves a shot.”

Obama also expressed strong support for Kamala Harris, recounting her mother’s influence on her dedication to justice. He emphasized, “America is ready for a new chapter and a new story. We are ready for Kamala Harris. She is ready for the job.” He assured that Harris would focus on the people’s needs rather than her own, stating, “Kamala Harris won’t be focused on her problems; she will focus on yours.”

In a nod to his 2008 campaign, Obama adapted his iconic slogan to support Harris, saying, “Yes, she can.” He emphasized the need for a president who genuinely cares about the American people and will advocate for better wages, concluding, “Kamala will be that president. Yes, she can.”
