IND vs BAN: KL Rahul Ruled Out, Rishabh Pant Expected to Replace Him; India’s Probable Squad for Bangladesh Test Series

After a decisive victory against Pakistan at their home ground, Bangladesh is now setting its sights on a challenging Test series against Team India. Given that India has not lost a Test series at home since 2012, this series poses a significant challenge for the Bangladesh team. Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian squad, aiming for a series win that would enhance their chances of reaching the World Test Championship (WTC) final at Lord’s in June 2025.

Rishabh Pant is likely to make a return to the squad, potentially replacing KL Rahul. Dhruv Jurel, who impressed with his performances against England, could be selected as Pant’s backup.

With the home conditions favoring spinners, India is expected to include four spin bowlers: Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, and R. Ashwin. Jasprit Bumrah is also anticipated to return after a hiatus, having last played in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa on June 29.

“Domestic tournaments like the Duleep Trophy are crucial for growth as a cricketer. I’m excited for the opportunity and will give my best,” Jaiswal shared on JioCinemas.

With the World Test Championship in mind, Jaiswal stressed the significance of every match and the need for consistent performance to keep India competitive on the world stage.

Following this series, India will face New Zealand in a three-match Test series from October 16 to November 5, which will serve as preparation for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy later in the year.
