During his three-day visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the United Nations Summit of the Future in New York, where he emphasized the need to balance the use of technology with democratic values. As part of his visit, PM Modi engaged in a series of key bilateral meetings, including discussions with Nepalese Prime Minister Sharma Oli, Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
In addition to these diplomatic engagements, PM Modi addressed the Indian diaspora at a community event held at New York’s Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. He spoke on various topics, including India’s general elections and the country’s advancements in technology. “I have always recognized the potential of the Indian diaspora, even before holding any official position,” Modi said, referring to them as “Rashtradoot” or “Ambassadors of the Nation.”
PM Modi also convened a roundtable meeting with top tech CEOs from the US to bolster cooperation in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and semiconductors. The meeting included prominent figures like Sundar Pichai from Google and Shantanu Narayen from Adobe, signaling a push towards deepening tech collaboration between India and the United States.
