PM Modi: J&K Poised for Its First-Ever Majority BJP Government

JAMMU/NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a rally on Saturday, expressed confidence that Jammu and Kashmir is on the verge of electing its first full-majority BJP government, aligned with the long-overlooked aspirations of the people of Jammu. Addressing a packed crowd at Maulana Azad Stadium, PM Modi urged voters not to miss this historic opportunity, stating, “This election will deliver a landmark verdict, allowing the people of Jammu to choose their own government for the first time.”

Chanting the slogan “Jammu Ki Yahi Pukar, Aa Rahi Bhajpa Sarkar,” PM Modi highlighted the BJP’s prospects of securing a majority, which would address the interests of the Jammu region that he claimed had been ignored for decades. He said, “For the first time, BJP is set to form a government with a clear majority. This is a crucial moment, and it should not be missed.”

The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect the growing sentiment within the BJP that the traditional Valley-based parties, such as the National Conference (NC), allied with Congress, and the PDP, may not win enough seats to form a government this time around.

PM Modi emphasized that the people of Jammu & Kashmir have realized that only the BJP can bring an end to their hardships and fulfill their aspirations. “In the first two phases of the assembly elections held on September 18 and 25, people voted in favor of the BJP because they are tired of dynastic rule in J&K,” he said.

He further noted that the residents of J&K are weary of the violence and bloodshed that have plagued the region and now desire peace and development—something he believes only the BJP can deliver.

PM Modi also touched on the long-standing grievances of the Jammu region, accusing the National Conference, Congress, and PDP of engaging in “appeasement politics” and asserting that these parties have gone to great lengths for political gain.
