An earthquake of 6.8 magnitude hits Tajikistan & China Border

An earthquake of 6.8 magnitude was reported around 8:40 am on 23rd Feb 2023 in Tajikistan and China border. According to China earthquake Network center it was around 7.3 magnitude, which is 0.5 lesser than Turkey’s (7.8) magnitude on 6th February 2023.

According to the US Geological Survey it was approx. 20 km deep, It was 67 km west of Murghab Tajikistan and 695 km away from Capital city Dushanbe, It was near Chinese border Xinjiang Uygur. As per a report published, No death has been reported so far.

The sequences of earthquake are as follows 23rd Feb 2023

5:37am-  magnitude 6.8 with depth of 20km

5:55am- magnitude 5 with depth of 10km

6:10am- magnitude 4.6 with depth of 10km

6:35am- magnitude 4.9 with depth of 10km

7:08 am- magnitude 4.8 with depth of 10km
