Following the launch of the iPhone 16 series last month, Apple is preparing to close out 2024 with major product updates. Rumors are circulating that the tech giant will introduce a new MacBook Pro featuring the powerful M4 chip, along with updates to its iPad lineup, including a refreshed iPad Mini.
Apple has already showcased its M4 chip in the latest iPad Pro models launched earlier this year. Now, a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman confirms that Apple plans to hold an event in October, where it will reveal new MacBook Pro models equipped with the M4 processor. The M4 chip is expected to bring significant upgrades over the current M3, featuring a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, whereas the M3 has an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU.
Leaked images of the M4 MacBook Pro packaging, reported by 9to5Mac via Shrimp ApplePro, show that the new laptops will likely come with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. In addition to the MacBook Pro, Apple is rumored to unveil a 24-inch iMac powered by the M4 chip at the same event.
The October event is also expected to introduce updates to Apple’s iPad lineup, including the long-awaited iPad Mini update, which hasn’t seen a new model since 2021. Entry-level iPads are also rumored to receive minor updates, with a focus on reducing production costs, while maintaining the current design.
Speculation points to the event taking place in the second or third week of October, with Apple likely to tease the announcement soon.
