Apple to Launch Powerful AI-Powered Siri Upgrade in Late 2025 with Game-Changing Features

Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch its long-awaited AI-powered Siri upgrade in late 2025, as per a recent report by The New York Times. This enhanced version of Siri, part of Apple’s broader AI strategy branded as “Apple Intelligence,” is expected to transform the virtual assistant into a far more powerful, context-aware tool, marking a significant leap from its current capabilities. While initial rumors suggested a 2026 launch, the new update indicates Apple is still targeting a rollout by the second half of 2025, likely in tandem with iOS 19 or shortly thereafter.

The updated Siri will leverage advanced artificial intelligence features that Apple first teased during the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Among the most anticipated capabilities is Siri’s new “Personal Context” feature. This will enable Siri to access and understand personalized data from within a user’s device, such as finding a recipe shared via text, recalling a book recommendation from a message, or retrieving specific files or emails. This level of personalization could redefine how users interact with their iPhones, offering a smoother, more intuitive experience.

Another revolutionary feature expected in the new Siri is “onscreen awareness.” This functionality allows Siri to interpret and respond to the content currently displayed on the screen. For instance, if a user receives an address via message, Siri can automatically add it to a contact or provide directions without needing the user to copy, paste, or switch apps. This seamless interactivity is set to improve productivity and user convenience significantly.

Deeper app control is also on Apple’s roadmap. The enhanced Siri will reportedly be able to execute complex tasks across Apple’s native apps, such as moving files, sending message drafts, editing and sharing media, and managing calendar events. These improvements could position Siri as a genuine digital assistant capable of streamlining daily tasks with minimal user input.

Despite the exciting showcase at WWDC 2024 — which even included a now-pulled promotional TV ad featuring actor Bella Ramsey — the rollout of these AI features has seen delays. Apple has faced criticism and legal challenges over the promotional claims, with multiple lawsuits in California highlighting the gap between the showcased features and what users have actually received. Nonetheless, the company appears undeterred and remains internally confident about meeting the 2025 launch target.

In the interim, Apple has released incremental updates to Siri, including a sleek new interface, improved voice recognition, and a feature allowing users to type their queries. The recent integration with ChatGPT also suggests the company’s growing emphasis on conversational AI and large language models, signaling a clear shift in strategy as it prepares to compete with other tech giants in the AI space.

If Apple sticks to its current roadmap, iPhone users can expect to experience this next-gen Siri by the end of 2025, ushering in a new era of intelligent, personalized device interaction. For video news and detailed updates, visit our YouTube channel THE OLIGO.
