Bengaluru Woman Quits High-Paying Job to Pursue Dream of Professional Baking, Gains Viral Attention

A Bengaluru woman’s inspiring journey from a high-paying corporate job to pursuing her passion for baking has captured the internet’s attention. Asmita, who previously worked as an HR professional at a leading tech company, was earning ₹1.5 lakh per month. However, in 2023, she decided to quit her stable job and take a bold step toward starting her own baking business.

Her story gained traction online when her husband, Sagar, shared a heartfelt post on X, showcasing her beautifully crafted mango vanilla cupcakes. “My wife left a 1.5 L pm job to make these. Thank God she did,” he wrote. The post quickly went viral, garnering over 2 lakh views and an outpouring of admiration from users.

People from across the internet praised Asmita’s decision, calling it courageous and inspiring. Many commented on how following one’s passion is more fulfilling than any corporate job. “People should take it as a learning that even a 30 LPA job can’t provide complete fulfillment… It should be what your heart truly wants,” one user remarked. Another added, “Looks so yummy. It’s amazing when people follow their dreams or passion.”

Asmita, currently based in Bengaluru, sells her baked goods through her Instagram page. Speaking about her journey, she revealed that her fascination with entrepreneurs in the city played a significant role in her decision. Seeing people take risks and build businesses motivated her to take a leap of faith and explore the world of professional baking.

Her love for baking began in 2020 as a hobby, but it wasn’t until August 2023, after completing a certification course at Lavonne, that she decided to turn it into a full-time profession. She advises others considering a career switch to plan ahead. According to her, having 12 months’ worth of savings, validating the idea before quitting, and believing in oneself are key steps in making the transition smoother.

Asmita’s journey is a testament to the power of following one’s dreams and taking calculated risks. With passion, preparation, and determination, she has turned her love for baking into a thriving business, proving that sometimes, stepping away from stability leads to true fulfillment.
