Five hi-tech satellite towns are planned by the Karnataka state government to develop in the outskirts of Bengaluru to reduce the burden of finding a house in the city as it is gaining an international reputation and several industrialists are visiting the town regularly.
To meet the demand for villas and houses, the government has announced the construction of satellite towns in the outskirts of Bangalore and this will eventually decrease the burden of the visitors and businessmen.
Directions were issued by the Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed to the KHB (Karnataka Housing Board) to furnish the project report for constructing the villas around the suburbs of the town. He justified his plan by saying that the villas and houses in the satellite towns will limit the developmental pressure on the Silicon Valley, where VVIPs visit the city on a regular basis.
Presently, the whole town is overcrowded and people are struggling to find houses at affordable prices. This project will ease the situation and help those people who are in need of houses. He also said that the land should be found at the earliest to fulfill the demands of the VVIPs and the visitors.
According to official reports, five satellite cities in total will be created on the outskirts of Bangalore. The whole project is composed of 25,000 plus houses and nearly 1,000 fancy villas with a total area of 2,000 acres, where each city would be around 500 acres.
All of these luxury projects are primarily created for the industrialists and businessmen, there is no clear insight about how this will decrease the burden on the city. Moreover, the projects are said to reduce the load and ease the situation by offering affordable housing facilities and not the luxury villas.
Mr.Zameer while explaining the designs to the officials told to develop a housing scheme to create provisions for 30,000 residential plots and construct 5,000 houses in each satellite town, altogether, there would be 1.5 lakh plots and around 25,000 houses under this housing scheme.
He also said that Karnataka Housing Board should not go behind money while preparing the schemes for poor people and they should also not compromise the quality of the work that will be performed in the satellite cities.
Zameer said, the pressure can be avoided only with the development of satellite towns on the outskirts by considering the connectivity of satellite cities along with the accessibility of Metro. He also said that half of the acquisition cost will be borne by the landowners.
