Chandrababu Naidu arrested by Andhra Police.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief N Chandrababu Naidu was taken into custody at RK Function hall this morning by a substantial group of Nandyal police led by DIG Raghurani Reddy along with the Crime Investigation Department (CID).

As per Hindustan Times, the DIG mentioned that Naidu was being arrested in the AP Skill Development Corporation Scam. As Naidu is mainly accused, a related notice stating it as a non-bailable offence was handed over to him. Which means that he cannot be released on bail and he can seek bail only through court.

According to the notice issued under Section 50 (1) (2) of Criminal Procedure Code, Naidu was informed about his arrest under Sections 120(8), 166, 167, 418, 420, 465, 468, 471, 409, 201, 109rw 34 & 37 Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1998.

The cops had to face opposition from the huge number of TDP cadres gathered at the spot and the SPG forces who guarded Naidu restricted the cops from reaching Naidu until 5:30am. After all the difficulties the cops were able to arrest Naidu by 6am and he was to be shifted to Vijayawada.

However, TDP points out that it is a plan of BJP & AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to accuse and arrest Naidu of a corruption case.
