Delhi Artist’s Post on ‘Women-Free’ Workplace Sparks Controversy Online

Delhi Artist Sparks Controversy with Post on Workplace Without Women

A Delhi-based artist, known as Mauryan on X (formerly Twitter), has ignited a heated online debate after sharing a post about his new workplace. The controversy stems from his claim that his new company, which has no female employees and consists entirely of colleagues over the age of 40, is free from “drama” and “politics.”

Viral Post Sparks Outrage

Mauryan’s post, which has amassed over six lakh views, stated:
“Finally joined a company with no women, and all my colleagues are 40+ in age. No drama, no politics. Apne kaam se kaam.”

His statement quickly went viral, drawing sharp criticism from social media users who accused him of reinforcing gender biases. Many took offense at the implication that workplaces with women are inherently associated with drama and politics.

Social Media Backlash

Several users took to X to express their disapproval, with some condemning the post as sexist. One user called it “disgusting”, while another responded sarcastically:
“Oh wow, sounds like a utopia! No drama, just pure, uninterrupted monotony. Enjoy the thrilling debates on knee pain and tax-saving schemes!”

Another comment read: “So, no women at home either to avoid drama? Life must be really peaceful for you.”

As the discussion escalated, many highlighted the deeper issue of workplace dynamics and gender biases, emphasizing the need for diverse and inclusive work environments.

Workplace Diversity Debate

The controversy has once again raised questions about gender representation in professional settings. Experts argue that diverse workplaces foster innovation, creativity, and better problem-solving, countering the stereotype that the presence of women leads to workplace disruptions.

While Mauryan has not yet responded to the backlash, the debate continues to gain traction, with social media divided on whether his statement was an innocent personal observation or a reflection of deeper biases in professional spaces.
