Hundreds of protesters surround Bangladesh Supreme Court, issuing an ultimatum for the chief justice to resign.

On Saturday, hundreds of protesters in Bangladesh reportedly surrounded the Supreme Court, demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan and the judges of the Appellate Division by 1pm local time. According to The Daily Star, the protesters threatened to besiege the judges’ residences if the deadline is not met.

The gathering began around 10:30am, with students and lawyers joining the call for the chief justice and appellate judges to step down.
