Uttar Pradesh government extended the school closure from 30th January to 6th February as the state is witnessing a spike in Covid cases. All the educational institutions will remain closed till 6th February.
In order to prevent the spread of virus initially the UP government decided to close schools till 23rd January but then it got extended till 30th January. In view of the current situation UP schools will remain closed till 6th of next month.
However the state government has ordered schools to plan their schedules according to the revised dates . They can carry on with the online classes before the schools reopen.
The UP government is also focusing on vaccination drives for children belonging to 15-18 age group.
Meanwhile other states are planning to reopen all schools and colleges. On Saturday, Karnataka education minister BC Nagesh, announced the reopening of schools and colleges and insisted on strictly following Covid-19 protocols during offline classes. So, from Monday in Bangalore classes will resume for school and college students.
Earlier this month the schools were closed for classes 1to 9. After a meeting on 4th January, the Karnataka government ordered schools to shut down for two weeks and extended it further.
This week,the state government had a meeting with Covid-19 Technical Advisory Committee and announced the reopening of educational institutions in Bangalore from 31st January.
Now there is an improvement in the Covid condition. Hence amid the decline in Covid-19 cases various other states are also planning to reopen schools and colleges.
Tamilnadu and Telengana Government has given a green signal to reopen educational institutions from 1st February. Schools in Mumbai city have reopened. Schools in Haryana and Pune will also be reopening from 1st February.
