KL Rahul’s Subtle Hint at RCB Return Ignites Fan Excitement for IPL 2025

KL Rahul’s brief but telling response to a Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fan’s wish has set social media abuzz. When a fan expressed their desire to see Rahul return to RCB, the cricketer’s simple reply—“Let’s Hope So”—hinted strongly at a potential move.

The speculation about Rahul joining RCB gained momentum after a heated exchange between Rahul and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka during IPL 2024. Despite Goenka later referring to Rahul as family, reports suggest LSG is unlikely to retain him following a disappointing season. Rahul is also reportedly keen to move on from LSG.

RCB, meanwhile, is undergoing changes after several seasons of underperformance. With Faf du Plessis potentially stepping down, Rahul’s leadership experience and role as an opener make him an ideal candidate to fill the void.

Rahul, who began his IPL career with RCB in 2013 and was part of the 2016 final squad, had previously been released by the team due to inconsistent performances. After stints with Punjab Kings and LSG, where he led his teams to consecutive playoffs, he now seems poised for a return to RCB. His impressive IPL record includes 4683 runs from 132 matches, with an average over 45, including four centuries and 37 half-centuries.
