Lalu Prasad Yadav Mocks PM Modi, Declares ‘Game Over’ for Five State Assembly Elections”

In a recent interaction with the media, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav voiced his confidence in the victory of the INDI Alliance in the upcoming assembly elections across five states, including Bihar. He applauded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, stating that there is no challenger to Nitish and emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had no role in the evacuation efforts in the Uttarakhand tunnel.

Lalu Prasad, while addressing the media in Delhi before heading to Patna, asserted that the INDI Alliance was set to win in all five states, dismissing Modi’s influence. He stated, “We are getting good reports and will win all the elections. Modi’s game is over now.”

Responding to allegations against Nitish Kumar made by BJP leaders, Lalu dismissed them as nonsense, firmly stating, “They speak nonsense. Is there any challenger to Nitish? … Nitish has no challenger.”

Regarding the Uttarakhand tunnel rescue operation, where credit was given to PM Modi, Lalu Prasad questioned Modi’s role, saying, “People from foreign countries were called for the rescue. What has Modi done.”

Meanwhile, the RJD has called for a meeting of all its spokespersons to discuss strategies for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The meeting, scheduled at Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s bungalow, will focus on highlighting the works done by the Mahagathbandhan government and discussing promises yet to be fulfilled by the Modi government.

Lalu Prasad Yadav, a key figure in Bihar politics, expressed optimism about the alliance’s performance in state elections and even hinted at a strong showing in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. He underscored the unity of opposition parties, led by figures like Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav, to safeguard the country and its constitution from the BJP.

In a more controversial statement, Lalu blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for India’s loss in the Cricket World Cup final, branding him inauspicious. This isn’t the first time Lalu has made such remarks against Modi. In response, the BJP reacted strongly, labeling Lalu as sinistrous and attributing various party and family setbacks to him. JD(U) also joined in, blaming Modi for the cricket stadium’s naming after Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel, asserting that it brought suffering to the country.

In a related development, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s visit to Delhi for a routine eye check-up has triggered speculation. This visit comes shortly after Lalu Prasad’s tour. Nitish may engage with opposition leaders during his stay, and his visit follows the state cabinet’s notification of two bills aiming to raise the quota limit for reserved classes. The cabinet also passed a resolution seeking special category status for Bihar. The political dynamics in Bihar continue to evolve, setting the stage for upcoming elections and potential collaborations in the opposition camp.
