On Monday, the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu and the DMK president MK Stalin were criticized by the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) for assaulting Narendra Modi the prime minister of India in his podcast’s first episode. The party said that the claims in the podcast were ‘lies’ stating that Modi had never given a word about the 15 lakh rupees which would be transferred to everyone’s account.
MK Stalin asserted that the BJP party has not carried out any pre-poll guarantees with respect to social welfare since the last nine years at the central government after the release of the podcast episode in five different languages that is Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. He also added by attacking the BJP led government stating that many assurances were not fulfilled such as 15 lakh rupees were not deposited to the people’s accounts as guaranteed, two crore jobs which were promised to be given did not happen and the farmer’s profits didn’t increase.
Making a mention of the recent communal brutality after a religious succession was broken in and the large-scale ethnic violence in the north-east states of India from the month of May this year, Mr Stalin said that if the INDIA alliance is not winning the whole will turn into Manipur, Haryana.
MK Stalin further urged the populace to “carve out a multicultural and diverse India,” proclaiming that the BJP uses communalism to hide issues like the “dismantling and handing over to friendly corporations” of public sector enterprises, the sale of Air India to a private player, and the “handing over to corporations that are close to the BJP” of airports and seaports.
Referring to the 2002 Gujarat chaos, the chief of DMK said that the hatred shown in 2002 in Gujarat has evolved in dissident violence in Manipur and communal fights in Haryana in 2023.
Mr Stalin said that the INDIA alliance was started with the aim of restoring social harmony, justice, secularism, federalism and socialism and he also issued a dire caution telling that “none can protect India if this is not ending now”. According to MK Stalin, “DMK has always been at the forefront whenever there is a threat to federalism.” The DMK, according to the BJP, is the organization that drives racial, ethnic, and linguistic divisions in the nation.
Narayan Tirupati, the Vice President of BJP, Tamil Nadu, laid a claim that the Central Government has given a due share of tax revenue to Tamil Nadu, disapproving of any attack on federalism. He said, “It’s great that at least now MK Stalin recognises India as a single nation,” in his mock reference to the DMK.
“Speaking for India” podcast was initiated to mark what MK Stalin calls the “destruction of India under BJP”. He also said that the podcast would spread the vision of an “egalitarian and harmonious India” that the opposite alliance hopes to build. Setting a stage for a huge role in National politics, especially in directing and moulding alliances, Mr Stalin’s podcast debut marks an important moment in political communication. His governance DMK alliance had erased the 2019 Lok Sabha poll, winning 38 of the 39 seats in Tamil Nadu and the only seat to Puducherry, the neighboring one.
On Friday, the INDIA alliance in the meeting at Mumbai, declared that the contest of Lok Sabha elections will be held together “as far as possible” – to take on the BJP. According to the settlement of the meeting, the Parties shall coordinate their communication and media strategies and campaigns in different languages in respect of the theme “Judega Bharat, Jeetega India”.
