“Political Clash in Andhra Pradesh: Chandrababu Naidu’s Inspection and Energy Challenge to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy”

On Wednesday, on the progress in the Uravakonda Assembly constituency with respect to energy and irrigation,               N Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief of TDP walked around the fields of Kowkuntla village in Uravakonda Mandal in inspecting the HNSS canal, wind power project and drip irrigation scheme and took selfies. Later on he pitched a selfie challenge to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh questioning him to come up with facts on how much the YSRCP government is supporting in the production of solar and wind energy comparing it to the time of TDP led government.

Observing the HNSS canal, Chandrababu Naidu spoke in the media that, if sufficient supply of irrigation water is provided to the farmers of Anantapur district then, the farmers there with their hard work can grow gold in those fields. He also said that the YSRCP government has destroyed the HNSS canal project which was initiated by the TDP government to support the farmers in that drought region which could almost help 5000 acres with the help of the micro irrigation project.

He also commented that the YSRCP government could issue the grants as the Central Government is already providing the subsidies to it to extend a support for drought prone areas like Anantapur, where water resources is a major issue. According to him, only when the resources are used to the optimum level, wealth can be created, and the micro irrigation project was one such opportunity, the ruling party failed in the same way by discontinuing it.

He added that 45% of the HNSS canal project was successfully finished in the previous government, but it couldn’t help the farmers as the present government did not take steps to complete it. He also said that even the green energy concept was started in TDP’s government with complete support. Specifying to the wind power unit, he stated that the solar power plants which got the support from TDP government are now shifting their base due to the intimidation of the present government with regards to it’s share.
