Southern Railway’s Diwali Special Trains: Booking, Routes, and Details.

Southern Railway is gearing up for the festive season by introducing special trains to manage the increased passenger demand during Diwali. These special trains are designed to make it easier for people to travel during the festival, and you can book tickets either online or offline.

For online bookings, passengers can conveniently reserve their seats through the official website of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) or its mobile application. Those opting for offline bookings can visit the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counter at railway stations.

Here is a glimpse of the Festival Special Trains operated by Southern Railway:

  1. Train No. 06061 Tambaram-Nagercoil Superfast Festival Special:

Timings: The train departs from Tambaram at 19:30 hrs on 10th, 17th, and 24th November 2023 (Fridays), reaching Nagercoil at 07:10 hrs the following day (3 Services).

Composition: The train comprises 20 coaches, including AC Two Tier, AC Three Tier, Sleeper Class, General Second Class, and Second Class Coaches (Divyangjan Friendly).

  1. Train No. 06062 Nagercoil – Mangalore Junction Festival Special:

Timings: Departing from Nagercoil at 14:45 hrs on 11th, 18th, and 25th November 2023 (Saturdays), it arrives at Mangalore Junction at 05:15 hrs the next day (3 Services).

Composition: This train also features 20 coaches with a mix of AC Two Tier, AC Three Tier, Sleeper Class, General Second Class, and Second Class Coaches (Divyangjan Friendly).

  1. Train No. 06063 Mangalore Jn – Tambaram Festival Special Fare Special:

Timings: Leaving Mangalore at 10:00 hrs on 12th, 19th, and 26th November 2023 (Sundays), it reaches Tambaram at 05:10 hrs the following day (3 Services).

Composition: Similar to the others, this train consists of 20 coaches, offering various classes for passengers.

  1. Train No. 06070/06069 Tirunelveli – Chennai Egmore Festival Special:

Timings: The Tirunelveli – Chennai Egmore route operates on Thursdays, departing at 18:45 hrs on 9th, 16th, and 23rd November 2023. The return journey, Chennai Egmore – Tirunelveli, runs on Fridays at 15:00 hrs on 10th, 17th, and 24th November 2023.

Composition: With 22 coaches, including AC Two Tier, AC Three Tier, Sleeper Class, General Second Class, Luggage Cum Brake Van, and Second Class Coach (Divyangjan Friendly), this train provides a comprehensive travel experience.

These special trains not only offer diverse coach compositions but also cater to different travel schedules, making it convenient for passengers to choose the option that suits them best. The initiative by Southern Railway aims to enhance the festive travel experience for people during the Diwali season.
