The Tamil Nadu Cabinet, led by Chief Minister M K Stalin, has given approval to eight investment projects worth Rs.7,000 crore in total. These projects include various sectors like electric vehicle components, footwear, glass manufacturing, and aerospace. This initiative is expected to generate over 22,000 employment opportunities in the state. Additionally, the Cabinet has validated the Tamil Nadu State Port Development Policy, which aims to promote the development of small ports through public-private partnerships (PPP) in the state.
Taiwan’s Hongfu is all set to establish a significant non-leather manufacturing unit in Panapakkam, Ranipet district. Furthermore, Saint Gobain, a prominent French glass manufacturer, is about to construct a new manufacturing plant in Kanchipuram district, showcasing their commitment to investing Rs.3 crore in the state.
Among the notable investments, Rolls-Royce, in collaboration with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, has stepped on a significant venture in Tamil Nadu’s Defence Industrial Corridor. International Aerospace Manufacturing Pvt Ltd (IAMPL), their joint endeavor, is commencing the establishment of a manufacturing plant in Hosur. This move pushes Tamil Nadu towards becoming a leading hub for defense production and strengthens its reputation as an investment-friendly destination in the sector.
The tree planting ceremony, attended by senior officials from Rolls Royce UK and Asia, depicts the company’s unwavering dedication to this project and its confidence in Tamil Nadu’s business ecosystem. The seamless progression from conceptualization to investment underscores the state’s business-friendly environment, positioning it as an appealing prospect for other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the defense industry.
