This is how Delhi looks during the G20 Summit. Empty Roads, Shop, Hotel, Buses, Trains, Flight all Shuts

On the first day of the G20 Summit taking place in the national capital, the city’s roads presented an unusual sight, without any usual bustling traffic and crowds. This emptiness in the streets was a total opposite to the city’s usual vibrant and hectic atmosphere. The reason behind this unusual calmness was the increased security measures in place. Delhi’s police force was on high alert, ensuring the safety and smooth functioning of the international event G20 Summit. Their presence was evident in various parts of the city, with security personnel strategically appointed to maintain the order and also to respond to any potential security threats.

This vigilant police force set the tone for the beginning of the G20 Summit, where representatives from around the world gathered to discuss critical global issues and collaborate on solutions.

The Nizamuddin railway station would usually be crowded with commuters, but now it looks mysteriously empty. This transformation was followed after the cancellation and diversion of several trains, all with the title of heightened security measures implemented for the eminent G20 Summit. Passengers are met with empty platforms, as the station takes on an unusually miserable atmosphere. Meanwhile, the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway, known for its continuous flow of vehicles, has been affected by an uncharacteristic stillness. The cause of this mild change is the levy of strict traffic restrictions, enacted carefully to ensure the seamless operation of the G20 Summit.

The New Delhi district has been officially designated as a “controlled zone.” Starting from 5 am on Friday and till 11:59 pm on Sunday, This specification has prompted a series of traffic restrictions aimed at protecting the smooth execution of this directive. The major example for these restrictions is the glimpse of vast stretches of road in Delhi lying empty. This emptiness relates to the extensive diversion of multiple traffic routes that are associated by the strict measures in place. As a result, the typical hustle that characterizes Delhi’s roadways have given way to an unusual calmness, as commuters are forced to use alternative paths and routes.

In the light of these restrictions, local law enforcement authorities have issued an order, urging residents and travelers to select the Delhi Metro as their primary mode of transportation during this controlled zone period. The Delhi Metro system is known for its efficiency and reliability, that supports the practical alternative for those seeking to avoid the traffic constraints and reach their destinations smoothly during this period.

The premises of the Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place have taken on a mysterious and almost empty appearance due to the rigorous security measures in place for the G20 Summit. Similarly, the Inner Circle of Connaught Place, a commonly crowded commercial hub, now presents a precisely empty visage. This is an outcome of the 3-day closure imposed from September 8th to 10th, involved by the presence of the G20 Summit in the area.
