Greater Noida Girls’ Hostel Fire: Two Jump from Balcony as Massive Blaze Erupts, Video Goes Viral
A massive fire broke out at the Annapurna Girls Hostel in Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park-3 area on Thursday evening, triggering a panic-stricken rescue operation. The fire, reportedly caused by an explosion in the hostel’s air conditioning unit, spread rapidly, forcing two girls to jump from the second floor in a desperate attempt to save themselves. Shocking videos of the incident have now gone viral on social media, showing flames and thick smoke engulfing the building.
The fire erupted around 5 PM, sending hostel residents into a state of chaos. Some of the girls managed to escape the premises in time, while others were trapped inside. Among them, two girls were seen stranded on the second floor, desperately seeking help. Locals quickly sprang into action, bringing a ladder to assist in the rescue. One of the girls attempted to climb down but lost her grip and fell, sustaining minor injuries. Fortunately, the fire department confirmed that she did not suffer any serious harm and is completely safe.
The fire department was alerted promptly, and emergency teams, including fire brigade officials, rushed to the scene to control the blaze. Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pradeep Kumar Choubey stated that as soon as they received information about the incident, their team immediately reached the location and brought the fire under control. He also confirmed that by the time the fire brigade arrived, all the residents had either escaped or been successfully rescued.
The swift action by the locals and fire department ensured that there was no loss of life in the incident. The viral videos have sparked discussions about fire safety measures in hostels and residential buildings, with many urging authorities to ensure better preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
