Karnataka Home Minister Confirms Congress Government’s Stability and Pushes for Congress Bhavan Construction
MYSURU: Karnataka’s Home Minister, Dr. G Parameshwara, has shared his thoughts on the state’s political landscape, emphasizing that while the Congress government remains stable, the situation in politics can shift at any moment. Speaking to Congress workers, he underlined the importance of proactive initiatives and urged the party to expedite the construction of the Congress Bhavan, a project long overdue.
Dr. Parameshwara highlighted the absence of a proper Congress office in the state, noting that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has recognized this need. Plans are now underway to build a Rs 15-crore Congress office, and the Home Minister encouraged laying the foundation stone during the Congress government’s tenure. The urgency stems from the unpredictable nature of political developments, he stated.
Addressing rumors about instability, Dr. Parameshwara reaffirmed the resilience of the Congress government. He dismissed allegations that the government could be destabilized by monetary inducements, stating that no amount of money—be it Rs 50 crore or Rs 100 crore—can threaten its position. He expressed confidence in Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s leadership, asserting that the Opposition’s efforts to unseat the government will not succeed.
The Home Minister also touched upon the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises. He assured Congress workers that the guarantees given to the people will remain intact. He praised Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s fiscal management skills and urged party members to communicate effectively with the public about these achievements.
Dr. Parameshwara revealed that the government is preparing to present the findings of the Kantharaj Commission’s socio-economic and caste survey to the people. Conducted at a cost of Rs 160 crore, the survey aims to provide a detailed understanding of the caste-wise population, which will help the government formulate more inclusive and targeted policies.
In addition to governance priorities, the Home Minister addressed party workers’ concerns about appointments to boards and corporations. He assured them that the long-awaited nomination list is ready and will be announced in two phases after the bypolls. He revealed that more than six meetings had been held to finalize the names, with a particular focus on prioritizing women candidates.
Dr. Parameshwara’s message to Congress workers was clear: focus on building a robust foundation, both literally and figuratively, to strengthen the party’s position in Karnataka. His words reflected both confidence in the government’s stability and a recognition of the dynamic nature of politics, encouraging proactive steps to ensure continued progress.
