Manoj Bajpayee, along with his wife Shabana Raza Bajpayee, has recently sold their upscale apartment in the Mahalaxmi neighborhood of South Mumbai for Rs 9 crore, as per documents reviewed by the real estate consultancy platform Square Yards. According to a report by Money Control, the couple had purchased this property in the Minerva residential tower back in 2013 for Rs 6.40 crore. The tower, developed by Lokhandwala Kataria Constructions, houses 362 units on a two-acre land parcel. The apartment they sold spans a carpet area of 1,247 sq ft (approximately 116 sq meters) and includes two car parking spaces totaling 240 sq ft (about 22 sq meters).
In addition to residential properties, Manoj Bajpayee has also made significant investments in commercial real estate. Last year, he and his wife acquired four office units on the 12th floor of the Signature building in Oshiwara for Rs 31 crore, as per documents accessed by Floortap.com. The couple paid a stamp duty of Rs 1.86 crore for this deal. This building has also attracted other Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Kartik Aaryan, Sara Ali Khan with her mother Amrita Singh, and Ajay Devgn-Kajol, who have all invested in commercial spaces within the project.
Despite his success, Manoj Bajpayee remains grounded in his lifestyle. In an interview with RealHit, the “Satya” star spoke candidly about his modest way of living. He emphasized the importance of financial security, saying, “You need enough money for medical expenses and your children’s education. A comfortable, dignified life where you don’t have to borrow money from anybody is all that matters. Otherwise, there’s no limit to wealth. The limit is Ambani. There are many rich people in the world, but I cannot become like them through acting. You have to set your own limits and control your greed.”
Bajpayee further shared that he prefers driving less expensive cars with fewer features, stating, “We live a middle-class life, and we are proud of it. Luxuries may come when you make a name for yourself, but at the end of the day, we choose our upper middle-class life because that’s where the peace lies. You have to choose between greed and peace, and we choose peace. I have a big car and a cheap, small car, but I prefer driving the small car when we’re going out or when I’m buying groceries.”
Currently, the actor resides in a luxurious apartment in Oberoi Towers, Lokhandwala, Andheri, valued at around Rs 10 crore, according to NoBrokerHood. He purchased the property in 2007, and it was designed by his wife, Shabana Raza Bajpayee. As reported by The NoBroker Times, the apartment features a mix of stone and wood flooring, a sofa with silver legs, and is adorned with paintings by Mauritian artists Vaco Baissac and Yves David, as well as Indian artist Chintan Upadhyay. The house includes a well-stocked library with Hindi, English, and world classics, a modern kitchen with a minimalist theme, and a small temple near the entrance. Additionally, there is a special area dedicated to displaying the actor’s trophies, and a den room equipped with semicircular seating, a projector, and a mini multiplex.
