Telangana BJP Distances From BJP Bandi Sanjay Son POCSO Sexual Harassment Case
Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao has distanced the party from the POCSO sexual harassment case involving Bandi Bhagirath son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar. He described it as a personal family legal matter and stressed that investigations should follow due process without involving the BJP. This stand came while opposition parties tried to use the case against the party in the state. Rao also defended the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and rejected all claims of discrepancies or voter suppression during the process.
The POCSO case was registered based on a complaint by the mother of a 17 year old girl who alleged months of harassment and inappropriate touching at a Moinabad farmhouse after the girl was forced to consume alcohol. Rao maintained that Bandi Sanjay is a senior minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi government and the party stands by due legal process. In the same press meet Rao explained that the Special Intensive Revision only removed names of dead people those who moved away and fake duplicate entries. He said no genuine voter complained about wrongful deletion and such exercises have support from the Election Commission and Supreme Court guidelines. Critics argue the revision creates problems for common people in rental homes but Rao called it necessary to stop bogus voting.
These issues have come at an important time when the BJP is expanding in Telangana under Prime Minister Narendra Modi guidance. The party wants to focus on welfare and growth rather than personal controversies. Bandi Sanjay linked the case to attempts to spoil the success of Modis Hyderabad visit. Observers note that such situations test how parties manage loyalty and accountability especially with leaders connected to national figures like Modi. The voter revision debate shows the difficulty of keeping electoral rolls clean while protecting voting rights in a fast growing state like Telangana.
Overall the developments put the Telangana BJP in the spotlight on both legal and electoral matters. Fair probe in the POCSO sexual harassment case will shape views on justice for minors while successful SIR can improve trust in elections. People expect high standards from public figures close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As investigations and revisions continue the coming days will influence voter opinions and the partys strategy. Transparency in these matters remains crucial for ordinary citizens to feel protected and fairly treated in the democratic system
