Amitabh Bachchan frequently shares personal anecdotes on the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, and in a recent episode, he opened up about his fear of riding bikes. During Tuesday’s episode, the legendary actor revealed his apprehension about bikers on the road and reflected on the anxiety he felt while filming a bike scene for the 1978 classic Muqaddar Ka Sikandar.
Engaging in a conversation with contestant Dr. Raghavendra, Amitabh confessed, “Bhaiya, these bikers make me very nervous. I’m really scared of them, sir. I can ride, but…”. The contestant then reminded him of his iconic bike entry shot in Muqaddar Ka Sikandar.
Laughing at the memory, the 81-year-old actor explained, “We actors have to perform once the camera starts rolling, showing that we know what we’re doing.” However, he admitted that it wasn’t as easy as it looked. He recounted the challenge of riding the bike while singing the title track of the movie. “But I was quite nervous while doing it. I had to sing, ride the bike, and even lift my hands off the handlebars. They didn’t ask me to do that, but I did it for fun, and it just happened,” Amitabh shared.
This wasn’t the first time Amitabh has expressed his unease with bikes. On a previous episode of KBC, when John Abraham appeared to promote his film Satyameva Jayate, Amitabh advised him not to encourage his son, Abhishek Bachchan, to get into bikes. Amitabh humorously recounted how he immediately changed the subject when Abhishek joined them, admiring John’s bike instead.
