A massive youth movement demanding transparency in India election system is gearing up for a direct face-off in the national capital. Abhijeet Dipke, the leader and founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, officially announced that volunteers and young citizens will march to New Delhi to hold a nationwide demonstration at Jantar Mantar. The deadline for the call has been set for October 10, warning that if Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar does not step down from his post immediately, thousands of demonstrators will travel from across the country to stage a peaceful sit-in.

The declaration came directly after the conclusion of a massive public demonstration at the historic Shivaji Park ground in Mumbai. Addressing thousands of young students, working professionals, and civic supporters, Dipke warned authorities that the youth movement is ready for Jantar Mantar two point zero. He explained that if police units attempt to block young demonstrators on the highways or at railway stations on their way to the national capital, the crowd will simply sit down on the road, turning wherever they are stopped into a new protest ground.

The youth group has adopted the term cockroaches as a badge of resilience, arguing that ordinary citizens survive hardship and administrative pressure just like hardy creatures that refuse to be wiped out. Dipke stated on social media that the march to the capital will follow the peaceful path of civil disobedience shown by Mahatma Gandhi. He remarked that it remains entirely in the hands of the central government and the Delhi Police whether they respect the constitutional right to assemble peacefully or resort to harsh force.

The primary demand behind this growing agitation centers around serious allegations concerning the voter registration system. The youth organization has accused the Election Commission of quietly deleting millions of legitimate voter names under the Special Intensive Revision program. Organizers claimed that deleting voters on a massive scale directly affects election results, especially in tight electoral battles. The movement has demanded the complete resignation of the election chief, criminal proceedings against top poll authorities, a freeze on the revision exercise, and the restoration of earlier voter lists.

The announcement follows days of intense administrative tension and high profile demonstrations. During parallel gatherings in the capital, Delhi Police had detained hundreds of demonstrators, including prominent political figures and university students, to prevent gatherings near central offices. In contrast, the Mumbai rally saw thousands of citizens gather despite police restrictions, turning the Dadar area into an active public assembly.

High-profile personalities from cinema, music, and civil society stepped onto the Mumbai stage to support the young demonstrators. Acclaimed actors Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi, alongside music director Vishal Dadlani, joined the rally to speak about the sacred nature of voting rights. Naseeruddin Shah embraced the young organizer on the ground, expressing his respect for civic activism, while Vishal Dadlani urged citizens of every political viewpoint to demand free and fair elections before institutional trust is lost completely.

The Cockroach Janta Party has also targeted recent administrative rules that changed the selection process for election commissioners. The youth group wants parliament to cancel the existing appointment law and create a completely independent selection committee that includes members of civil society and the judiciary. Dipke claimed that without independent checks on election leadership, public trust in democratic contests cannot be protected.

The upcoming march on October 10 is expected to bring together student groups, regional worker federations, and democratic rights bodies from several states including Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. As youth leaders finalize travel plans and public coordination, the planned agitation sets the stage for a major civic confrontation in the heart of the national capital.
