Himanta urges Mamata to refrain from politicizing the RG Kar rape-murder case.

Ranchi: On Friday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in response to her remarks accusing RG Kar hospital and its owner of orchestrating an attack on opposition members and protesters in Kolkata.

During a BJP workers’ meeting at the state party office in Ranchi, Sarma urged Banerjee to refrain from politicizing the heinous crime, stressing the importance of holding the perpetrators accountable and ensuring justice.

Addressing the media, Sarma described the rape and murder of a PGT doctor at RG Kar hospital as a tragic incident that has profoundly impacted the entire nation, including West Bengal. He urged Banerjee to steer clear of politicizing such serious matters and focus instead on ensuring those responsible are held accountable. The attack on protesting doctors was attributed by Banerjee to politically motivated “outsiders” attempting to stir unrest in West Bengal.
