On Friday 10th November, Sanjay Singh, a leader from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) who is in jail, said that there exists a “significant plot to trap” Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He voiced this concern to journalists following his appearance in the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi, related to the alleged excise policy case. The Aam Aadmi Party shared the video on platform X.
“Kejriwal ji is the target of a significant conspiracy. It’s not just about an arrest, but something substantial is planned for Kejriwal by these individuals,” remarked Sanjay Singh as he was escorted by police officials. Sanjay Singh was taken into custody by the investigative agency ED the previous month after a lengthy search at his residence linked to an alleged liquor scam.
Sanjay Singh’s “conspiracy” alert follows the recent summons of Arvind Kejriwal by the ED, where he was asked to appear for questioning regarding the money laundering investigation related to the excise policy scandal. The AAP leader didn’t attend the summons, asserting that it was “driven by political motives.”
Arvind Kejriwal described the summons as “unclear, politically driven, and legally unsound”. He suggested that the ED’s notice was issued for external reasons influenced by the BJP.
It’s important to mention that Arvind Kejriwal’s party associates, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh, are presently in legal custody concerning this case.
