Actor Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on September 30 after complaining of stomach pain. Following a regular health checkup, it was decided that he would undergo an elective procedure performed by a cardiologist on October 1. His wife, Latha Rajinikanth, reassured everyone that “all is well.” The procedure involved placing a stent near his lower abdomen, and Rajinikanth is reported to be in stable condition, recovering under observation.
According to hospital sources, the actor had developed swelling in a main blood vessel leading from his heart. Doctors treated the issue using a non-surgical, transcatheter method. Rajinikanth is expected to stay in special care for 2-3 days and will likely be discharged soon.
Fans of the superstar, along with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, expressed their heartfelt wishes for his speedy recovery. On social media, fans flooded Twitter with “Get well soon” messages, showing concern for the actor’s well-being.
Rajinikanth is currently filming for the movie Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and is expected to take a brief break from shooting following the procedure. The movie, a standalone action entertainer, features an ensemble cast including Sathyaraj, Upendra Rao, Nagarjuna, and Shruti Haasan. Music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Additionally, Rajinikanth’s film Vettaiyan is set to release on October 10, directed by TJ Gnanavel. The star-studded cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, and others.
