HDFC Bank has announced a temporary suspension of several key banking services due to scheduled maintenance. On Saturday, May 25, from 3:30 AM to 6:30 AM IST, customers will be unable to access net banking, mobile banking, and UPI services, as stated on the bank’s official website.
During this three-hour maintenance window, a variety of transactions will be affected. These include account access, deposits, fund transfers via NEFT, IMPS, RTGS, and within bank transfers, as well as online payments. HDFC Bank has proactively informed its customers through SMS, advising them of the upcoming disruption to ensure they plan their transactions accordingly.
In addition to the primary services, UPI transactions will also be unavailable during the maintenance period. Customers seeking further information about the impacted services can use HDFC Bank’s ChatBanking service for assistance.
The HDFC Bank ChatBanking service is a WhatsApp-based platform that allows customers to access over 200 services and transactions around the clock. This service is designed to be fully secure with end-to-end encryption, providing customers with a safe and convenient way to manage their banking needs even when other services are temporarily down.
To register for the ChatBanking service, customers need to save the number 7070022222 in their contacts. They can then send “Hi” or “Register” via WhatsApp from their bank-registered mobile number to 7070022222. The service will guide them through the registration process, allowing them to access various banking services via chat.
The bank’s maintenance update has been accompanied by a set of frequently asked questions (FAQs) to help customers understand the ChatBanking service better. This effort aims to minimize inconvenience and ensure that customers can still perform essential banking operations during the scheduled maintenance period.
HDFC Bank emphasizes that these maintenance activities are crucial for improving and maintaining the security and efficiency of their digital banking services. Customers are encouraged to complete any urgent transactions ahead of the scheduled downtime to avoid any disruptions.
