On November 17, 2023, the Madhya Pradesh Assembly election was decided to be scheduled. As per the recent survey conducted by the ABP C-Voter, it is predicted that the Congress party is likely to win this election with an assumption of 113 to 125 seats, whereas the existing party that is Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to secure between 104 to 116 seats. At present, BJP holds the power in the state led by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in office.
The Congress had won the elections in the year 2018 under the Chief Minister Kamal Nath, but their government had lost balance after 15 months due to a political operation by Jyotiraditya Scindia and his loyalists, and this led to the BJP returning as the ruling party.
The Election Commission has declared the poll schedule for five states which includes Madhya Pradesh and, the results for all the states have been planned to be declared on December 3. According to the sources, the fourth list of candidates has already been released by the BJP party, naming seven MPs as its nominees. Whereas, the Congress party is expected to release the list of candidates after October 15.
All these improvements indicate an intensely contested election in Madhya Pradesh with the BJP and Congress once again contesting for power in the state.
