The Aam Aadmi Party made an announcement on Tuesday that it will cancel the inauguration of the Parliament building by PM Narendra Modi on 28th May because they insulted President Droupadi Murmu without inviting her to the inauguration function.
Sanjay Singh, the member of AAP Rajya Sabha said that “AAP will protest against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not inviting President Droupadi Murmu for the inauguration program of the new Parliament and he said that it is not only an insult to her, but a huge insult to tribals, Dalits and other derived category of people in the society”.
A cold war has exploded between the BJP and the Congress party over the new Parliament inauguration ceremony by the Prime Minister on May 28.
Rahul Gandhi said that “The Parliament is built with fundamental values and with the stones of ego”. He also said that not inviting the President to the inauguration function is an insult to the constitution’s highest post.
Chief of All India Adivasi Congress Mr.Shivajirao Moghe said, “We have the women President for the first time and this is a humiliation to women and the tribals of the country”.
Addressing the media conference at the headquarters of AICC, Shivajirao Moghe said that it will be a great insult to democracy if the new building of Parliament is inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and not by the President.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh shared Shivajiroao’s remarks and said, “In December 2020 while laying the foundation for the new Parliament, President Ramnath Kovind was not invited and now Droupadi Murmu, the current President is not being invited to the inauguration function. Even when there is a member in the constitution at the highest position, the constitutional rights of Dalits and Adivasis are not secure under the Modi Government. The systematic way of how the Modi government has undercut all the environmental laws and forest to damage the tribal community is highlighted here, said Ramesh.
“The Parliament is just not the new building, but the foundation with the values, precedents and traditions of Indian democracy. For Prime Minister Narendra Modi all that matters is the inauguration ceremony by him, so exclude us in this’ ‘, said the Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member Derek O’Brien.
According to the Trinamool Congress the inauguration of the new Parliament should be held on Independence day and not on May 28th the birth anniversary of RSS patriarch V.D. Savarkar.
All these eruptions started only after the Ex- Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi made a demand that the new Parliament house should be inaugurated by the President Murmu and not by the PM Narendra Modi.
