Rajasthan BJP Leader Dinesh Binwal Arrested in NEET 2026 Paper Leak Leaves Students Devastated ?

The NEET UG 2026 exam held on May 3 was cancelled after a major paper leak came to light, shattering the dreams of more than 23 lakh students across India who had prepared for months. A handwritten guess paper matching over 120 to 150 actual questions spread rapidly in coaching hubs such as Sikar in Rajasthan just days before the test. Investigators found that the leaked material reached candidates through WhatsApp groups and other messaging apps, exposing deep cracks in the security of this vital national entrance test for medical seats. This latest incident has once again left families in financial and emotional distress with many students facing lost time, extra coaching costs, and uncertainty over their future careers as doctors.

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot publicly identified Dinesh Binwal from Jamwa Ramgarh in Jaipur Rural as one of the main persons arrested in this case. Gehlot shared a poster on social media describing Binwal as a district level office bearer of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and questioned whether political links led to delays in registering an FIR by the state government. Congress leaders released photos showing Binwal with senior BJP figures including the Education Minister to underline the alleged connections. Rajasthan BJP State Vice President Mukesh Dadhich denied that Binwal holds any official post in the party. The political blame game has turned this exam leak into a major controversy in Rajasthan even as central agencies continue their work.

Dinesh Binwal and his brother Mangilal allegedly purchased the guess paper for 15 to 30 lakh rupees from a contact in Gurugram, Haryana around April 26-27. They reportedly passed it to Dinesh's son who was preparing in Sikar and distributed it further to other candidates through local networks. The CBI arrested Dinesh Binwal, Mangilal, Vikas Binwal from Jaipur along with suspects from Gurugram and Nashik in coordinated raids. Rajasthan Special Operations Group had questioned several people earlier. The investigation now spans multiple states and focuses on middlemen, coaching centres, and encrypted communication channels used in the racket. Hardworking students feel deeply cheated as their sincere efforts go to waste due to the actions of a few, forcing a re-exam that adds more pressure and costs.

Repeated paper leaks in NEET and other government exams over the years have raised serious worries about the system protecting student futures. During the current central rule, NEET has faced such issues multiple times while reports mention over 70 to nearly 89 paper leaks across various exams affecting crores of aspirants and leading to many re-tests. Many voices now urge stronger technology, stricter laws against leak mafias, and faster justice without any influence from powerful backgrounds. The CBI raids and arrests in this case bring some hope for accountability but students and parents expect lasting fixes so that future exams remain fair. Quick and transparent action can help restore some faith in the process that decides the careers of lakhs of deserving young Indians who simply want a fair chance to succeed.
