Purola town of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand was affected by the communal tension, with right-wing traditions over the ‘land and love jihad’. Meanwhile, the Muslim organizations were distressed over the “hatred atmosphere ” and “imposed migration of the community members”.
Mahapanchayat was scheduled on June 15 at Purola, several organizations along with the local Vyapar Mandal and the Pradhan Sangathan were supposed to attend the mahapanchayat.
However, the district administration of Uttarkashi denied the approval for the mahapanchayat and issued a prohibitory order under the Code of Criminal Procedure of Section 144 after the intervention of the state government, which restricted the assembly of more than four people.
The ‘Pradhan Sangathan’ of Uttarkashi in Purola town gave a confirmation after the meeting with the district administration that they are not going to organize the recommended mahapanchayat to explain the ‘increasing cases of land and love jihad’, because the responsibility of organizing the same was taken by Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Muslim organizations had also announced their corresponding mahapanchayat at Dehradun on June 18 to examine the issues on how “Muslims were forced to vacate their houses and shops”.
Many had protested in the Purola town and other parts of Uttarkashi district, insulting the refusal of granting mahapanchayat. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal called this a strike (bandh) because several shops were shut during this incident.
The President of Bajrang Dal Mr.Anuj Walia told to reporters that, “It is very big Mafia against the Hindu community to stop the mahapanchayat and we request to remove the district chief Justice who is representing the Muslim organizations.”
The Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma pointed out the negative effects of excessive use of fertilizers on health and insisted on using organic and natural farming.
While addressing the people at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra on the occasion of National Farming Conclave inauguration in Guwahati he said, ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he had several meetings, where the Prime Minister suggested increasing the natural farming in Assam’.
A recent documentary showed that the land has so much potential and it does not require any urea, Nitrogen, or Phosphates to grow plants naturally if it is used efficiently, he said.

In addition to this he said that we can use fertilizers, but excess use of fertilizers would lead to health issues. He believed that there is no alternative for natural farming, because organic farming produces more crops when compared to fertilizers farming in the same plot of land.
The Assam Chief Minister said that the schemes like Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojana serves as a great help for states like Assam who are suffering from continuous floods.
The Honorable Governor of Gujarat also explained how healthy natural farming is when compared to fertilizers farming and also gives more yield to the farmers.
