Gujarati Tourists in Uttarakhand Break Into Garba Amid Landslide – Viral Video Captures the Moment

A landslide may have delayed their journey, but nothing could stop a group of Gujarati tourists from celebrating with garba in Uttarakhand. A viral video captures the group joyfully breaking into an impromptu garba dance after being stranded due to a landslide. According to reports, the group, including Viraj Gorasia and his parents, was on the Char Dham Yatra when their trip to Gangotri was halted by heavy rain and a massive landslide.

Gorasia shared with HT.com that they were informed by police that clearing the blocked roads could take anywhere from 6 to 10 hours. Instead of waiting idly, the group decided to make the best of the situation. “As a fellow Gujju, it was funny and heartwarming to see strangers come together in a remote village and turn this moment into something beautiful,” Gorasia said.

His video quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), with netizens reacting with amusement and admiration for the group’s upbeat attitude. One user humorously wrote, “Gujaratis and garba are inseparable. Thus, LandSlide Garba was born today.”

Others joined in, with comments like, “Whenever Gujjus are stuck, they just look up at the sky and mimic the planets spinning,” and “How positive in life are you? Gujjus: Always.” Another quipped, “With Navratri just around the corner, it’s just training for the big day!”
